Yorkville Fury Softball Benson

We are happy to introduce our roster for the 2026-2027 season for our 16u Yorkville Fury Benson.

Our season came to a close this afternoon, with a loss to the eventual tournament champions Barrington Hurricanes. Regardless where roads take us, we know that we have a family that will support and care about us. Thanks to our wonderful players, coaches and families. Time for a little break and on to next season!

Final GAME DAY of the season! Even when the family changes, the family circle only grows. Our Fury Family is special and one of a kind, we are fortunate to spend this time together. We look forward to spending the day with FAMILY, one game at a time!

Game 1 Bracket play with a W over Oak Park Windmills. GC Highlights:

Final game of pool play = Tie vs Dupage Revolution, a team that had not given up a run in two previous games. We finished with a 10-10 tie after being down 10-6 to start the bottom half of the final half of the inning. Absolute GRIT, getting it done! GC highlights:

Congratulations to our pitchers Rebecca Kerber and Marie Vashkelis-Benson as they both surpassed the 100k’s for the season. Rebecca has 112 strikeouts in 94 innings and Marie has 103 strikeouts in 92.2 innings. They both had solid pitching numbers in their high school seasons as well. Way to go ladies!!!

We can only say, “What a game…”. Started bracket play #1 Delta Sports Performance vs #9 Yorkville Fury to start our Quarter Finals play. At the end of 7th we were tied 2-2, then with 2 RBI’s Rebecca Kerber helped us take the lead 4-2 in the top of the 8th. Delta battled back tying it in the bottom of the innings so we went to the ninth. Marie Vashkelis-Benson drove in, what ended up being the winning run in the top of the 9th. Our defense was spot on the entire game and Rebecca Kerber threw all nine innings for the WIN, throwing 105 pitches with a 70% strike rate. Wow, what a team WIN!!! On to Semis with a 5:00 game. Striving to keep playing deep into the night. Thanks to Bullwinkle’s in Brookfield, WI for keeping us cool, hydrated and fed during our break.
