Penguin Swimming is a team for children ages 5-college. We are part of USA Swimming and swim at YSU. Penguin Swimming competes in USA Swimming competitions.
The team is comprised of swimmers from 5 to 18 years old. The swim season consists of a short course program that runs from September through March and a long course season that runs from April through August. We are fortunate to use Beeghly Natatorium at Youngstown State University for team practices. Beeghly is the finest competitive swimming facility in the area with both long and short course capabilities.

We are incredibly proud of our Penguin Class of 2026 senior swimmers — Sean Pecchia, Anna Brown, Pete Delisa, and Brenna Cunningham! They’ve excelled both in the pool and in the classroom, including 2 valedictorians, 2 summa cm laude graduates, and all 4 earning membership in the National Honor Society! 🐧🏊♀️🎓

Some of our Penguin crew attended the Beyond the Blocks event at The Ohio State University, where they joined clinics and training sessions led by Olympians Lilly King, Josh Matheny, Jack Dahlgren, Kieran Smith, Anna Peplowski, and Camille Spink—it was an awesome experience!

Day 2 did not disappoint! 🏊♂️ We saw some really great swims, stuck around for the finals, and made more awesome memories as a team. For the first time ever, the pool even lost power — it was wild, but somehow made the night even more fun. ⚡️
