As we gear up to welcome our Upper Division students back into the Academy to begin their fall classes tomorrow, we will be missing one final student who is finishing up her summer studies outside of Yuma. Congratulations to Abigail S. for being accepted into Pacific Northwest Ballet School’s highly selective summer intensive! Enjoy the cooler temperatures while you can! Week 5 with Ms. Alyssa Myers was inspiring and magical with a study of Giselle and contemporary movement! Thank you Alyssa Myers for bringing your joy of dance, artistry, and technical knowledge back home to Yuma! We love having you whenever possible… 🩰

Week 4 of our Intermediate/Advanced Intensive was full of precise Vaganova technique and exploring character dance! Thank you to Ekaterina Anishchenko for sharing your vast knowledge and expertise with our dancers and staff. We can’t wait to have you back! 🩰

Another Level 5 Academy student and Ballet Yuma company dancer is spending their summer training outside of Yuma! Elizabeth S. is wrapping up her studies with Boston Ballet School’s Summer Dance Program intensive course in Boston, MA. We are so proud of Elizabeth for furthering her training and education during summer break! Way to go, Elizabeth! We look forward to seeing all your progress once you are back at the Academy!

Level 5 Academy student and Ballet Yuma company dancer Emma B. recently completed The School of Ballet Arizona’s summer intensive in Phoenix, AZ. We are so proud of Emma for going out of her comfort zone to audition for and then be accepted into this summer study program with an additional scholarship awarded to her through The Ballet Alliance . Congratulations to Emma and we can’t wait to have you back at the Academy!

Week 5 we welcome alum, Alyssa Myers back to the studio. She is a wealth of information and an artistic inspiration to all. Thank you for giving back and bringing all your motivation and creativity to our students.
