Muskingum County Speedway - Race Review

Round 4 ✅

I want to start out with a huge thank you to Muskingum County Speedway and The Moran Family for having us down to do some two wheel racing on their dirt track. Four wheels is typically their gig and they are looking to expand to us two wheel guys in the future and we had a blast stretching the throttle cable on the big oval.

We mixed it up! For the last two years it’s been motocross and woods. That’s been our bread and butter and we figured we were due to try and expand our horizons and find a new place to go racing. Light turnout but we expected things to be down a little with no moto track. 320 entries on the day - a good starting place for getting out of our comfort zone.

A lot of positive feedback on the race course - those that did show said the grass track section was a blast and ripping through the gears on the oval was something new that provided smiles for 3/8th of a mile. I saw a few future late model drivers out there this weekend. It isn’t often we get to find out what 5th gear wide open feels like. Best part was standing on the infield and hearing some finely jetted two strokes echo off the wall. Woods section got rough and choppy. High speed flow sections made for a great loop. Koda Devore, Andy France and Brad Esper went to war in Open Sport. Points battle got shuffled back to even - 2 rounds to go and looking at some great racing to close out the season.

Only bummer was the dust and heat - made it tough to see in the woods. It’s been a brutal summer with hardly any rain. The areas in the woods that had moisture showed there’s big potential at Muskingum for some great racing.

You may pull into the facility starting Wednesday but access the inside the gates will not open till Thursday afternoon.
