A local lawyer has filed an official complaint that accuses Netflix of trying to "erase the Egyptian identity".

Netflix hasn’t offered a response to the complaint at this time. However, Adele James, who plays Cleopatra in the series, posted a response to hateful messages on social media - “If you don’t like the casting, don’t watch the show.”
