Post 29 wrapped up its season last night in the District Tournament in Beverly. Ohio.
We took a 4-2 lead into the top of the 7th against host Beverly- Lowel, but we're unable to close it out. Unfortunately we wasted a tremendous effort in relief by Alston Williamson, who relieved Noah Winland, with 5 strong innings of baseball to keep us ahead. ALston took us to 2 outs and final strike, worked a ground ball that was misplayed allowing to runners to score tying the game. A pitching change didn't work and Bev- Lowell tacked on the insurance they need to take the game and advance.
We are greatful for the opportunity to coach these young men and help give guidance for their future. We wish them the best moving forward.
Thanks for a good year!
I would like to thank ALL OF OUR SUPPORTERS, FAMILY AND FRIENDS most importantly Zanesville Post 29 and all their financial backing, guidance and leadership and as always, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE.. WE COULD NOT DO THIS WITH OUT YOU! Coach Pat Corder, President of the Muskingum Valley Old-timers, for his wisdom and guidance along with his willingness to take on anything we needed to support our team. Lastly , I'd like to thank Coach John Hamilton for his selfless support of this great game our team and community and his willingness to give his time to area youth. Thank you Coach.

Thanks
Coach Watton

Tough 4-2 loss today in the opening round of the District Tournament... Landon Harney pitched another good game today but some untimely errors extended 1 long inning that hurt us in the end. We started hot plating to runs off Marietta's ace (he will be attending Glenville State on a baseball scholarship) in the top of the first. Hits from Jax Better, Ethan McClellan, Danny Huffmand and Sam Wiseman all contributed to the fast start. We got in trouble in the home half of the 4th allowing 4 runs on 1 hit with 2 errors and 3 walks. Marietta wes held to 2 hits on the game.
We are back in action tomorrow at 6pm at Fort Frye HS home of Beverly Lowell Legion.

The BEAST ended for us today in another well played hard fought game with Renegades Elite featuring an Oklahome St committ behind the dish and a Pitt committ at first base.
Noah Winland pitched a complete game scattering 7 hits and with 3 earned Runs...or defense had its first error of the tourney today, and Winland pitched around the mistake.
Offensively our achilles heel bit again... in our last to losses we've stranded 16 RISP, somthing we can work on.
Proud of the performance this weekend, even through the losses. The core of this team came together and lead the way. When u have teammates who embrace our core values, Attitude, Effort and Team, it send the message to those who may not, either get on the bus or get off! So proud of how we competed.

2 tough losses today at the BEAST, but lots to be proud of!!!
GAME 1 A 1-0 loss to Higland Hawks...the summer team for the Duv 3 state title winners this spring.. Multiple Highland players were starters on that team. Their 2 previous tourney wins were in decisive fashion, having 2 run rule games.
Our starter Justin Stambush ( JG ) went 7 strong innings throwing 90 pitches, allowing only 4 hits with 3 strike outs and 1 earned run... we had multiple runners in scoring position just could push the tying or winning run across.
Game 2 loss to Titan Baseball of Toronto Canada. A collection of 18 18/19yr Olds either in college or on their way... they jumped out to a 7-0 lead after 2 2/3 innings behind a 19 yer old left hander on his way to Div 1 Fairfield University. The boys battled back to make it 7-3 in the 6th inning and ran out of time due to.a.2 hr time limit. Coen Grandstaff lead the offense with 2 hits while 5 others added a hit a piece. Kade Hindel and Quinton Hindel combined to relieve Alston Williamson, the 2 brothers kept us in the game the rest of the way.
Our team found it's grit today playing all day with a short lineup of only 10 players due to vacations/ work commitments. What was most impressive is how this core group competed TOGETHER today.
We are back in action at 10am Saturday and again at 6pm.
Thanks for the support as always!!
