Coaching Clinic Level 1 Seminar Concludes in Jizzakh

On 21 August 2026, the “Coaching Clinic Level 1” seminar for coaches concluded in Jizzakh. The seminar was organised under the auspices of the WABC (World Association of Basketball Coaches) as part of FIBA’s regional federation development programme.

Over six days, coaches from various regions of Uzbekistan participated in intensive theoretical and practical training led by Serbian specialist and FIBA instructor Milan Kotarac 🇷🇸

The final day of the seminar focused on the participants’ final assessment.
As part of the programme, the coaches completed a written examination, followed by the practical assessment. The participants demonstrated the knowledge and practical skills they had acquired throughout the six-day course.

The seminar placed particular emphasis on modern coaching methodologies, the development of individual and team skills, the organisation of training sessions, tactical preparation, and modern principles of the game.

Following the examination, the seminar's closing ceremony was held.
B.M. Miradilov, Secretary General of the Basketball Federation of Uzbekistan, congratulated the participants on completing the course and presented the coaches with certificates and commemorative gifts.

The “Coaching Clinic Level 1” seminar served as an important educational platform for enhancing the qualifications of coaches in Uzbekistan, exchanging international experience, and further developing coaching education in the country.

Six days of knowledge, practical experience and international expertise — another important step in the development of basketball in Uzbekistan!

Day Five of the “Coaching Clinic Level 1” Seminar Held in Jizzakh

On 20 August 2026, the fifth day of the “Coaching Clinic Level 1” seminar took place in Jizzakh. Organised by the WABC (World Association of Basketball Coaches), the seminar is part of FIBA’s regional federation development programme.

Participants engaged in intensive theoretical and practical sessions led by Serbian coach and FIBA instructor Milan Kotarac 🇷🇸.

📚 Day Five — Man-to-Man Defense and Defensive Actions

Participants worked extensively on:
- Organising full-court man-to-man defence;
- Different defensive actions against screens and the principles of defending them effectively;
- The key principles of Man-to-Man defence and the proper organisation of team defensive actions.

The practical focus of the seminar allows coaches not only to study modern basketball principles but also to apply them directly on the court, analyse game situations and further develop their team preparation methodology.

“Coaching Clinic Level 1” is another important step towards the development of coaching education and the professional development of basketball specialists in Uzbekistan.

Tomorrow, 21 August, participants will attend the final day of the course, featuring both a written and practical examination.

On 19 August 2026, the fourth day of the “Coaching Clinic Level 1” coaching seminar was held in Jizzakh under the auspices of WABC (World Association of Basketball Coaches).

The seminar is part of FIBA’s initiative to develop regional federations.

The fourth day focused on team offence, transition phases and attacking against defensive pressure.

During the practical sessions, participants worked on:
- Off-ball and on-ball screens;
- Transition from defence to offence and the fundamentals of the fast break;
- Organising offence against full-court pressure;
- Practical game situations and team cooperation.

Special attention was given to the analysis of a FIBA U17 World Cup game, which participants reviewed as part of a practical assignment. This approach allows coaches not only to study theoretical principles, but also to apply them when analysing real game situations.

The seminar instructor is Serbian coach and FIBA instructor Milan Kotarac 🇷🇸, who has extensive international experience working with national teams, professional clubs and youth teams.

The “Coaching Clinic Level 1” continues. More practical sessions and the final part of the course are still ahead.
