A crucial step on the road to the Asian Games!

📚This August, the International Kurash Institute will organize another two-week hybrid refresher course for selected international Kurash referees.

☑️From August, participants will attend online theoretical sessions, strengthening their knowledge of the latest international refereeing rules, updates, and modern officiating standards.

🇺🇿From 17 to 22 August, the course will continue with its final practical phase in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. During this stage, referees will apply their knowledge in practical sessions under the guidance of experienced international experts, further enhancing their officiating skills.

❗️Held in preparation for the Asian Games in Japan, this course plays a vital role in ensuring that referees are fully prepared to officiate at one of the continent's most prestigious sporting events.

Priority Tasks Discussed at the International Kurash Association

🔰An Administration Meeting chaired by Mr. Ziyoviddin Khodjiniyazov, Acting President of the International Kurash Association (IKA), was held with the participation of General Secretary Mohammad Reza Nassiri, Presidential Advisor Umid Yakubov, Head of the IKA Administration Mansur Mirzaev, and IKA staff members.

📆During the meeting, participants thoroughly discussed the preparations for the 1st World Military Kurash Challenge, which will be held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from 10 to 15 September this year. Specific tasks were assigned regarding the registration of participants and further strengthening cooperation with national Kurash federations and the military authorities of participating countries.

❗️It was emphasized that this competition, being organized for the first time through the joint efforts of the International Military Sports Council (CISM), the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Kurash Federation of Uzbekistan, will significantly enhance Kurash’s position and prestige within the international military sports system. To date, 10 countries have officially confirmed their participation, while representatives from more than 20 countries are expected to take part before the final registration deadline on 10 August.

🤝The meeting also reviewed the progress of IKA’s membership application to AIMS (Alliance of Independent Recognised Members of Sport). Participants were informed about the work carried out in this regard. It was noted that Kurash has already secured a strong position in the Asian Games programme and has achieved significant progress towards inclusion in the Pan American Games and the Central American and Caribbean Games. At the same time, consistent international efforts are continuing to include Kurash in the programmes of the African Games and the European Games. Membership in AIMS was recognized as one of the key milestones on Kurash’s path toward closer integration into the Olympic family.
📌At the conclusion of the meeting, preparations for the World Senior Kurash Championships, scheduled to take place in Astana, Kazakhstan, from 5 to 9 November, were also reviewed. Relevant officials were assigned specific responsibilities to ensure the timely and high-quality implementation of all planned activities.

Issyk-Kul 2026: Registration is Closing!

🇰🇬Registration is closing for one of the most important international training camps of 2026—the “Issyk-Kul 2026” International Training Camp.

🔰Organized in accordance with the official calendar of the International Kurash Association and the Kurash Confederation of Asia, this camp is designed to bring athletes’ physical, technical, and tactical training to a high level ahead of the 20th Asian Games, the CISM World Military Kurash Challenge, the Nomad Games, and the World Senior Championships.

🏞Issyk-Kul’s clean mountain air, unique natural surroundings, and highly competitive environment have made this camp one of the most prestigious training centers on the World Kurash calendar in recent years.

⏳All national federations must submit their applications by July 15, 2026.
National federations from countries requiring visas must submit their documents by July 10, 2026.

❗️Participants from countries requiring visas must attach copies of their passports and passport-sized color photographs on a white background in separate folders and submit them as a compressed file (ZIP/RAR).

Registration is now open for the 1st World Military Kurash Challenge

🗓From September 10 to 15, 2026, Tashkent will host the 1st CISM World Military Kurash Challenge—the first of its kind in the history of Kurash.

🇺🇿These competitions, included in the calendar of the International Council of Military Sports Organizations and the International Kurash Association, will be open only to active-duty military personnel and members of the armed forces.

❗️Competitions will be held in 8 weight categories for men (- 60 kg, - 66 kg, - 73 kg, - 81 kg, - 90 kg, - 100 kg, -120 kg, +120 kg) and 5 for women (- 52 kg, - 57 kg, - 63 kg, - 70 kg, +70 kg), for a total of 13 weight categories.
