🩺❤️ React Right Training Successfully Completed! ❤️🩺

Dive BVI and the Ciboney Centre for Excellence are proud to celebrate the successful completion of another React Right First Aid, CPR & AED training course in our Virgin Gorda community!

We welcomed a great mix of first-time students and returning participants renewing their certifications, and everyone came ready to learn, participate, and put their skills into practice. 👏

Throughout the course, participants:
🫀 Practiced CPR skills on our demonstrator models
🚨 Worked through realistic rescue scenarios
🩹 Applied first aid and bandaging techniques to one another
⚡ Built confidence using their emergency response skills

The energy and engagement in this class were fantastic! We always have so much fun teaching React Right, and it’s especially rewarding to share these important, potentially life-saving skills with our Virgin Gorda community.

A huge congratulations to everyone who completed the course! 🎉 Your willingness to learn and be prepared makes our community stronger and safer.

Not certified for CPR and First Aid? Call us! We can come to you and train your staff, family, and friends. September is a good time to refresh those skills before we get busy with tourist season again!

It is NATIONAL RUM DAY!

Rum is a distilled clear alcoholic beverage which is a byproduct of sugar production. It can also be made directly from sugar cane juice. After the fermentation and distillation process, most rum ages in wooden oak barrels.

However, rum also conjures up sailors and pirates. The reason for that is how rum came to be. In the West Indies during the 1600s, large plantations grew sugar cane. When they extracted the sugar, they created a by-product called molasses. For years, the molasses was a waste product until it was discovered it could be distilled - into rum. Then, rum became not only a commodity for trade but also a ration on the ships delivering the product. Even in the modern Royal Navy, British sailors received an allotment of rum until 1970.
