Have you ever seen a lobster mid molt?
Lobsters never stop growing and shed their shells in a process called molting.
The lobster takes in excess water to swell its body, which forces the old shell to crack open along its back, allowing the lobster to walk out of its old shell.
The new lobster shell is soft and delicate, requiring the lobster to hide for several days to weeks while its new shell hardens!
