The PADI Platinum Course Director is recognized as the best of the best in scuba instructor training. I feel very humble and honored to be bestowed this rating. It has been a long and amazing journey in my scuba career. It started in England as a British Sub Aqua diver. Diving all over Europe and the plethora of wrecks off the coast of Britain. Next came the navy where I became a scuba instructor trainer. In 1982 I went to Grand Cayman and worked at a scuba resort. While there, I wrote the first Stingray Diver and snorkeling course. In 1990 I became a Course Director and worked for the largest Instructor Development Centers in the world. They became the first Career Development Centers in the world and recognized as the most chosen instructor training centers in the world. I was also involved in the largest ever instructor exam conducted by PADI. There were over 140 candidates and Iโm proud this number is still the highest PADI have ever had at an exam. I then went to work PADI as their International Sales & Marketing Representative. I became a PADI Instructor Examiner and conducted instructor exams all over the world. There are a lot of good Course Directors in the world. However, there is no excuse for EXPERIENCE!! This real life experience is what makes your IDC one of the most rewarding and enjoyable experiences of your scuba career. You should be looking for a mentor with at least 25 years experience to take your instructor training from.
