Built by a dedicated team.
Built with pride.
Built for the VI.

Hear from two members of our project team as they share their perspective on the transformation of D. Hamilton Jackson Terrace.

Today marks the 250th anniversary of the United States.

As we celebrate this historic milestone, we also recognize the unique history of the U.S. Virgin Islands and the generations of people who have helped shape our community.

At J. Benton Construction, we are proud to build spaces that serve our islands today while investing in the future for generations to come.

Happy Independence Day!

The start of July is a time to reflect on the history that shaped the Virgin Islands and the values that continue to move us forward.

As we honor Emancipation Day, we recognize the courage, resilience, and unity that define our communities. These occasions remind us to appreciate our past while continuing to build a stronger future together.

From all of us at J. Benton Construction, we wish you and your family a safe, meaningful, and happy holiday.

Construction is built on trust.

Trust in timelines.
Trust in communication.
Trust in ex*****on.

Every project reflects the responsibility we carry—and we approach it with that in mind, every time.

We are so proud of our team behind the transformation of the D. Hamilton Jackson Terrace community!

17 months.
10 buildings total turned over to date—9 residential buildings and 1 community center.

We are still tracking ahead of schedule.
This is what happens when the right team is on the ground.

Built by Virgin Islands hands. Driven by pride.

We move fast.
We deliver.
And it shows.

The transformation of Walter I.M. Hodge Pavilion is easy to see.

What isn’t as visible is the USVI workforce behind it.

The before-and-after photos show what was achieved—but they also represent the skill, pride, and craftsmanship of the local tradespeople who helped bring this community forward.

For 20 years, J. Benton Construction has been a Virgin Islands company, working alongside local trade partners across St. Croix, St. Thomas, and St. John. Walter I.M. Hodge Pavilion is another example of what happens when local talent is trusted to lead the work.

• 96% local trade labor
• One transformed community
• Over 400 USVI tradespeople behind the result

As J. Benton Construction approaches our 20-year anniversary in the U.S. Virgin Islands, we are proud of how far we've come—and even more proud of the relationships that made it possible.

Local trade partners, suppliers and relationships have always been key to our progress, driving the level of quality and excellence seen across our work. At our D. Hamilton Jackson Terrace Rehabilitation Project, 99% of this project was completed by local trade labor representing over 250,000 man-hours to date.

Over the years, we have expanded our team, strengthened our capabilities, and delivered projects that have made a lasting impact across St. Croix, St. Thomas, and St. John. We do not just work in the Virgin Islands—this is home—and our commitment to the Territory is reflected in everything we build.

We are grateful for the trust placed in us and thankful for the many trade partners who have helped shape our journey over the past two decades.

Here’s to 20 years—and what comes next!
