In the morning of August 11th, 2026, in D**g Hoi Ward, Quang Tri Province, the Football Association of Norway/Football for All in Vietnam (FFAV) project, in collaboration with Quang Tri Department of Education and Training, launched a training course for life skills instructors focused on integrating education for youth crime prevention through sports—specifically football—as part of the cooperation activities agreed in 2026.
The three-day training course takes plance from August 11th to 13th, 2026, with the participation of 30 life skill instructors from 15 newly established clubs in April 2026. These instructors are responsible for directly delivering lifeskills education—using football as a platform—to children at FFAV Football Clubs across Quang Tri Province.
The opening ceremony was attended by Ms. Le Thi Thu Ha – Deputy Head of the Division of Political-Ideological and Student Affairs; Mr. Le Ngoc Thanh – Specialist at the Division of Political-Ideological and Student Affairs, Quang Tri Department of Education and Training; and Ms. Phan Thi Thu Huong – Head of the Program and Life Skills Departement at FFAV.
During the training, participants will gain hands-on experience with play-based learning methods, utilizing football games to create natural, positive, and child-friendly learning experiences. Through these activities, they will learn how to integrate skills—such as emotional regulation, communication, cooperation, conflict resolution, coping with peer pressure, decision-making, and choosing positive behaviors—into football practice.
In particular, the crime prevention is addressed through life skills education, helping children recognize risks, develop self-protection skills, and make positive life choices.
From the very first day, the training session was characterized by a lively, open, and energetic atmosphere. Participants actively engaged in games, discussions, and experience-sharing, while exploring ways to turn every football activity into an opportunity for children to learn and grow.
After the training, FFAV expects these 15 new clubs to maintain regular activities and create safe, positive, and inclusive football environments where children can connect, play, develop skills, and build healthy relationships. Notably, FFAV Football Clubs will continue to promote the participation of girls and women, striving toward a football environment that is truly for all.
🌱 Every safe, positive, and inclusive club serves as a healthy environment where children can connect, grow, and steer clear of risky behaviors. Through football, we work together to prevent youth crime and build a better community for children.
