A page to keep a track of the running we are doing to raise money for Paul, a former player of the H

April was never meant to be a running month but Covid has meant no gym. So back to it.

Have been 92kg for a year despite multiple efforts of lowering the number. Need to try something new.

Next challenge. See how fast I can get at 5km runs. @ Hanoi, Vietnam

2020, new fitness regime. Let's see if football and Muay Thai can take it to the next level. (Only been back a few weeks so no comments about my bad technique please 😉)

4th race down, 1 more to go (for now)

Hardest race yet, but I had Paul in my ear when my legs were thinking of stopping.

Would have loved to have gone faster and longer but my legs just wouldn't carry me.

Final practice long run scheduled for tomorrow in preparation for the Ha Long Bay Half Marathon on November 24th. It's the 4th race we have done in 3 months with one more planned for January 2020.

It's been a gruelling few months for some of our players, trying to juggle work, football and running 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ with everything else but every step we take is worth it - all in the memory of Paul Connell. At times I thought my legs couldn't take any more but we keep getting each other through it and the thought of Paul watching us pushing us on makes it that little bit more bearable.

Please support our cause by donating on this page for the men's mental health charity CALM.

We are only 31% of our target at the moment so every little £$ helps.

Thanks all,

Gary

The training continues. Much better now the temps have gone down and can enjoy the scenery of where I live without burning to a crisp.

First run since the race. Nice and easy, conditions getting better now, feeling good.

Forgot to post this earlier. Not fast not slow. All in the name of Paulie.

3rd race complete for Paul, raising funds for a men's mental health charity CALM. Although the pace was steady throughout, I couldn't have gone a second faster. I need to stop playing football 12 hours before running these races.

Race 2 for Paul done :)
Rest for a week now before the Long Bien Half Marathon next Sunday.

It's amazing how much better I feel after a 2km run walk and a stretch. No more 100% rest days for me.

Temperature was a bit lower than usual. Ran an extra 1km at footy training even though I was 30 mins later than usual. Can't wait for winter
