Rep. of Ireland are the European Champions ! 🇮🇪🏆

The "Jack's Army" did it again ! By beating Spain on penalties (5-4) after goaless final, Ireland won this first edition of the European Championship, and at the same time achieved the double World Cup - Euro !

In the 3rd place match, a new look Italy team clinched the bronze over England (2-1) to become the surprise of the tournament.

Korea Republic are the Asian Champions ! 🇰🇷🏆

A final as we love them ! After 40 minutes of a balanced match full of chances for both sides, it was finally South Korea who won against the hosts, Vietnam, on penalties (0-0, 5-4 pen).

What a disappointment for Vietnam again, which after having thought of breaking the bad luck of the penalty shootout in the semi-final against Japan (2-2, 3-2 pen.), is once again stopped at the gates of the title. Huge disappointment also for the Blue Samurais, who after having crushed China (6-0), and Israel (3-0) in the group stage, and achieved a great match against Vietnam in the semifinal, finally fell short on penalties as well. An anecdotal third place for Japan is only little consolation, after Israel's withdrawal for the third place match.

Israel also had a good tournament. Decimated with injuries of many of its players, the Israeli selection came with only 7 players for the tournament. Despite an initial defeat against Japan (0-3) a victory against China (2-1) had allowed them to dream and perhaps achieve the feat against Korea in the semifinals, which, in it's Group A, had already beaten Vietnam (2-1) and drawn against Australia (0-0) to take first place of the group. In that first semi-final, Korea scored early and then managed their one-goal advantage until the end of the game. Despite some Israeli chances, Korea finally reached their first ever final.

Contrasting feelings between the two eliminated from the group stage. Australia, despite its heavy defeat against Vietnam (1-7), saw some hope after having held a goalless draw, and especially held up well against Korea, future champion. Does it bode well for the future ? For China, it seems more complicated... After losing heavily to the Japanese in the opening match (0-6), the Dragon Team could not beat Israel (1-2) but still managed to score it's first goal in an official match.
