BA BE LAKE – BAN GIOC WATERFAL

This tour will take you from the vast lakes and chalky karsts of Ba Be National Park to the wild and rugged landscapes of Cao Bang to visit the most spectacular Ban Gioc waterfall in Vietnam. 7.30 - 8:00 am - Our tour guide and car pick you up at your hotel, then transfer to Lang Son. We will drive up toward Vietnam and China border about 3 hours, stopover at Chi Lang - a 20-km-long structure is created from a narrow valley between two mountains. This place is associated with a great victory of Vietnam in the past and considered as the strongest citadel at the time. You have 1 hour to walk to explore and visit the “Quy Mon Quan” gate which means the Gate of Monsters where many of the invaders came to Vietnam in the numerous incursions had to enter and where many were killed by the Vietnamese defenders.
After lunch at a local restaurant in D**g Dang, continue your trip into pass as you visit Mother’s Temple and D**g Khe – the history site where The Battle of D**g Khe was fought during the First Indochina War. The fight took place in D**g Khe, in the Province of Tonkin, during September and October 1950, ending with a Viet Minh victory.

Day 2: Cao Bang - Ban Gioc Waterfall - Ba Be Lake (B, L, D)
After breakfast at the homestay, you will depart for Trung Khanh which lies on the border with China. Here you will have the chance to meet the Nung people in the village of Phuoc Sen, a mountainous village famous for its traditional blacksmith craft. The farming tools made here are an integral part of the lifestyle which is evident in the surrounding rice paddies and fields. Nestled in amongst these amazing landscapes is the breathtaking Ban Gioc Waterfall which spans over 300 meters, half in Vietnam and half in China. You will have time to soak up the powerful atmosphere of the falls and take some fantastic photos before heading to another natural wonder, Nguom Ngao Cave. This cave stretches out 2,144 meters underground and is brimming with incredible stalactites and stalagmites. You will then make your way to return Cao Bang town and going down on snake pass to Ba Be Lake, tonight you will stay overnight on traditional house of Tay ethnic family. At the homestay, you can relax and unwind from the day and enjoy a meal of home cooked local food.

Day 3: Ba Be Lake - Hanoi (B, L)
You can relax on board, do some wildlife spotting or if you need to cool off, you can jump into the cool, clean waters for a refreshing swim! As you float on Ba Be Lake, you can take in the scenery of the surrounding karsts decorated with patches of wild vegetation and inhabited by all sorts of interesting creatures. The boat ride along the Nang River, with time to explore the stunning Ba Be Lake, the caves of Puong Grotto where you can explore the stalactites and stalagmites which are a result of the erosion of the river on the karst as well as looking out for the bat colony several thousand strong. You will depart for the journey back Hanoi, a drive of approximately 150 miles (230 kilometers). We will stop at some hills tea plant before returning to your hotel in the bustling city of Hanoi.

BAN GIOC WATERFALL
A road running along the top of the falls leads to a stone marker that demarcates the border between China and Vietnam in French and Chinese. Modern disputes arose as there are discrepancies as to the correlating legal documents on border demarcation and the placement of markers between the French and Qing administrations in the 19th century.[4]

Disputes regarding the border demarcation at this location were settled in 1999 Viet Nam-China Treaty on Land Borderline. Additional talks were held as late as 2009 to clarify the treaty.[5] However, there are controversies regarding the border demarcation around the Falls. One faction holds that the entirety of these falls belongs to Vietnam, and that the stone tablet had been moved there some time during or after the brief Sino-Vietnamese war of 1979.[6] To the southeast, the land dispute also along the Sino-Vietnamese border also includes Nam Quan Gate (Ải Nam Quan) which the Vietnamese claimed as well. Historically,[7][8][9] Nam Quan Gate served as the border marker and entry point to Vietnam between Vietnam & China (hence there's also a Vietnamese historical saying,[10] that Vietnam stretched from Cape Cà Mau to Ải Nam Quan).

The waterfalls increase the quality of life for people who live within the sound of the falls. A road running along the top of the falls leads to a stone marker that demarcates the border between China and Vietnam in French and Chinese. 20th century disputes could not be resolved where inaccuracies in documents, maps and descriptions that were made in the 19th century became difficult to universally comprehend. The disappearance or inaccurate replacement of markers and landmarks from time to time, and the varied patterns of transportation, settlement and land use from generation to generation, and the successive administrative differences throughout periods of war and strife led to both Vietnam and China understanding that exactly defining the border would increase prosperity in the long term.[4]

The commercial focus of the area directly around the falls will likely remain tourism.

Arrive at Tuan Chau marina, transferred by speedboat to Genesis Regal Cruise. Welcome aboard the cruise. Refresh with our welcome drink. Meet the captain, and crew on our cruise and join the briefing, learn safety instructions.

Join us for a buffet lunch in the luxury dining room with an indoor or outdoor dining area (depending on the weather).
Check in your cabin. Time to refresh and unwind.
Continue cruising through Con Vit islet, Thumb islet, and Gia Luan harbor which belonged to the Cat Ba area.
Discover lagoon natural area belongs to Lan Ha Bay. Drop anchor for Kayaking or swimming or just simply sunbathe on our cruise (private, wild and fresh air).

Gather around the sundeck for watching the sunset, and enjoy a Sunset party with complimentary cocktails demonstration. It’s an ideal time to make acquaintance with new friends, share your traveling experience or simply watch the sunset or just relax in the seasonal swimming pool.

Join us for a short class cooking demonstration. Our chef will guide you on how to make famous traditional Vietnamese spring rolls. Here you will understand the culinary culture of the Vietnamese.
19:00 approx
A seafood buffet dinner is served with a fresh food menu.
After dinner, reward yourself with a large selection of cocktails at a panoramic bar with an ocean view, or take one of our onboard activities: games, movies, and squid fishing… or relax with massage services.
Footbath with lemongrass and salt (optional).

Day 2: Tai Chi – Sang Toi (Dark & Bright) Cave – Typical Vietnamese cuisine – Return to Hanoi (Buffet Breakfast; Buffet Lunch).

Join us for a Tai Chi session on the sundeck for an early riser. Tai chi helps focus the mind and condition the body, joining Tai Chi sessions to full charge your energy for the new day.

Local light breakfast is served.

Mingling yourself in the stunning views of the bay and its dramatic limestone islets as we sail through the calm emerald waters heading to Dark & Bright Cave (Hang Sang & Toi).
Take your option either exploring the cave by yourself on a kayak or comfortably on a local boat rowed by the locals.

Check-out the room.

Enjoy buffet lunch.
12:00 approx
Disembark from the cruise as our crew say farewell, back to Tuan Chau Marina by our speedboat
Transferred by ultra-luxurious limousine return to Hanoi (for the guest to use our transfer service).
Arrival back at your hotel at approximately 15:00.
