💡 In yesterday’s Tour de Romandie prologue, there were a lot of different bike builds raced, from full-time trial bikes to normal road bikes. The winner, however, Maikel Zijlaard from Tudor Pro Cycling, had one of the most special bike setups: the BMC Teammachine R with an 80mm front wheel and a disc wheel.
Zijlaard: “I chose the BMC Teammachine R because I felt that the cornering with it was super steady and the fastest way to go, especially in combination with the technical parts of the course as well as the fast straight lines. I tried it first with the 80mm wheel in the back but thought that a disc wheel would not be a bad idea. Once I tested it out on a recon run, I knew that it was the setup I wanted to race with. I already knew that the Teammachine R is a super fast and capable bike, and it proved itself again in the prologue.”
Great choice: the winner is always right!
