Incredimal - Nando Brown & Fizz I teach dog trainers & behaviourists to get bettet at their craft Our goal is less dogs being rehomed in the first place.

We hope this will be an entertaining but useful tool for anyone thinking about buying a new dog. We are 100% behind the rescue of dogs but if we can make people more aware when they initially start looking for a dog that they are signing up to a (hopefully) 15 year contract with another living being. Each video blogg will be named and numbered however if it's just me talking then we have probably strayed into a completely unrelated subject as i do have a tendency to waffle on about random crap that happened 3 days before last tuesday.

Good boy news

You’ve probably been told that if you walk past a puppy’s bowl and chuck something better in, you’re teaching them that human approach predicts good stuff.

Nice, simple, tidy bit of counterconditioning.

Except behaviour is rarely that fu***ng tidy.

What’s your favourite exercise?

A new Science paper found that dogs, like humans, seem to use consonants more than vowels when picking patterns out of speech.

It doesn’t show that dogs understand language like us, and it didn’t test training cues.

But it raises a great question for trainers:

How much does the actual sound of a cue matter?

So I tested “yes” against similar-sounding words to see what my dog actually responds to.

We have awarded £132,000 worth of scholarships to dog trainers and aspiring dog professionals.

They’ve been split across people who are…

• Trying to break into the industry and build a new career
• Running dog training as a side hustle and working towards going full-time
• Already working full-time in the industry but wanting to deepen their knowledge and upskill

This was exactly what we hoped the scholarship fund would achieve! Helping people at different stages of their journey access serious, in-depth professional education.

We now have just 12 scholarship awards of £1,500 left to award by the end of September.
If you’ve been thinking about applying, now is the time.

Voluntary vet behaviour. Co operative care. Restraint. Distraction
They all have their pros and cons.
What do you teach your dogs and what do you teach your clients.?
