The run is an A to B run through the streets of Ben Cat before reaching a temple. Next, it's over the road through some lanes to the shiggy in shaded rubber plantations then out onto open road leading to the beer stop. The next stretch is the scenic route to another temple the over the bridge to the B point. Bring sun cream, a hat 🧢, umbrella ☔, rain coat 🧥 and some wellies 👢 if you got some.

10 years ago, a young hasher followed Paddy Fag and Broken Seal through the paddy fields of Binh Duong, clueless and covered in mud. Got named with a bucket of cold water and swore she’d never come back.
Fast forward a decade… she’s still here, still running, still laughing. She knows the trails, sets the runs, trains the newbies, and even drags her family and friends into the chaos.
Join her and her co-hares to celebrate 10 years of shiggy, beer, and unforgettable memories this week!

Run #74 The Flat Arse Factory Residence Road Run, A to A

The hares will treat the runners and walkers to a trail along the factory roads to view the industry on offer and then through a local residential area leading to the beer stop. There will be some parks and swampy ground before taking the road back to the A point for the circle.

What is a Red Dress Run?

On August 7, 1987, a young lady wearing a red dress emerged from an airplane that had landed in southern California to visit a friend from her high school years. Shortly thereafter, she found herself transported to Long Beach, where her friend intended to introduce her to a zany running group called the “Hash House Harriers.” One member, noting her gender and attire, urged that she “just wait in the truck” until her host returned. With that goading, she ran into history sporting her red dress and heels. The following year (August 12, 1988), to commemorate the event, the San Diego Hash House Harriers sent “The Lady In Red” an airline ticket to attend the inaugural Red Dress Run. Hundreds of male and female hashers adorned themselves in red dresses for a spectacle widely covered by California newspapers and TV news. In addressing the crowd, The Lady In Red suggested that Hash House Harriers hold the Red Dress Run annually as an occasion be used to raise funds for local charities.

The event quickly spread around the globe to places. Over the years, it has raised millions of dollars for charity. Today the Red Dress Run is another part of the Hash House Harriers' heritage.

Red Dress Run là gì?

Vào ngày 7 tháng 8 năm 1987, một cô gái trẻ mặc váy đỏ bước ra từ một chiếc máy bay vừa hạ cánh ở miền nam California để thăm một người bạn cũ thời trung học. Ngay sau đó, cô được đưa đến Long Beach, nơi người bạn dự định giới thiệu cô với một nhóm chạy bộ kỳ quặc có tên là “Hash House Harriers.” Một thành viên trong nhóm, nhìn thấy giới tính và trang phục của cô, đã bảo cô: “Cứ ngồi đợi trong xe đi” cho đến khi người bạn quay lại. Bị khiêu khích như thế, cô gái đã chạy cùng nhóm, ghi dấu vào lịch sử trong bộ váy đỏ và đôi giày cao gót.

Năm sau đó (ngày 12 tháng 8 năm 1988), để kỷ niệm sự kiện này, nhóm Hash House Harriers tại San Diego đã gửi cho “Cô gái mặc váy đỏ” một vé máy bay để tham gia Red Dress Run lần đầu tiên. Hàng trăm thành viên nam và nữ của nhóm đã mặc váy đỏ, tạo nên một cảnh tượng được báo chí và truyền hình California đưa tin rầm rộ. Khi phát biểu trước đám đông, “Cô gái mặc váy đỏ” đã đề xuất rằng Hash House Harriers nên tổ chức Red Dress Run hàng năm như một dịp để gây quỹ cho các tổ chức từ thiện địa phương.

Sự kiện này nhanh chóng lan rộng khắp thế giới. Qua nhiều năm, nó đã quyên góp được hàng triệu đô la cho các hoạt động từ thiện. Ngày nay, Red Dress Run đã trở thành một phần di sản độc đáo của cộng đồng Hash House Harriers.
