What can you do in Tram Tau in 3 Days (Besides Mountain Climbing)? 🏔️
Most travelers know Tram Tau for its two famous peaks:
⛰️ Ta Xua (Phu Sa Phin)
⛰️ Ta Chi Nhu
But what if you're looking for a slower adventure?
Here's my favorite 3-day itinerary:
📍Day 1 – Slow down
♨️ Relax in natural hot springs
🏡 Stay in a peaceful mountain homestay
🍲 Enjoy a family dinner with local hosts
📍Day 2 – Choose your adventure
🏍️ Option 1
Ride through mountain roads to:
• Hang De Cho Waterfall
• H'Mong villages
• Phinh Ho Tea Hill
🥾 Option 2
Trek through:
• Rice terraces
• Forest trails
• H'Mong villages
• (Optional: waterfall if weather allows)
🛍️ Optional: Visit the local afternoon market.
📍Day 3
☕ Wake up slowly with mountain views
📸 Visit local villages ( Thai or Hmong villages like Luu village or Cu Vai villages - by car or motorbike. )
Take one last walk through the rice terraces
🚐 Return to Hanoi
Sometimes, the best adventure isn't reaching the highest summit...
It's slowing down enough to truly experience the mountains.
👇 If you had 3 days in Tram Tau, which would you choose?

**How We Prepare Our Local Guides for the Trekking & Rice Terrace Season 🌾🥾**
A great journey is not only about beautiful landscapes.
It is also about the people who help you understand them.
As the trekking and rice terrace season approaches, our local guides are spending time learning, practicing, and improving their English together. They record their presentations, answer real questions that travelers often ask, and receive feedback before welcoming our guests.
We don't just train guides to lead a route.
We train them to share the stories behind every rice terrace, every Hmong village, every local tradition, and every smile you meet along the way.
Most of these guides come from the local communities where our tours take place. By investing in their skills, we hope to create more meaningful jobs while giving our guests a deeper and more authentic experience of Northern Vietnam.
We believe the best guide is not the one who talks the most—but the one who helps you truly connect with local people and their culture.
We can't wait to introduce you to our amazing local guide team this season.

Thinking about visiting the rice terraces of Northern Vietnam?
We've answered some of the most common questions travellers ask:
🌾 When is the best time to visit?
🌾 Where are the best rice terraces?
🌾 Why were rice terraces built?
🌾 Why do farmers still use buffaloes?
🌾 Is it difficult trekking?
We've put together the answers in a new travel guide based on our experiences guiding travellers through Mu Cang Chai, Tram Tau, Sapa, and Hoang Su Phi over the years. These regions are among the most beautiful rice terrace destinations in Vietnam and each offers a different experience.
If you're planning a trip to Northern Vietnam, this guide may help you decide where to go and when to visit.
