Very grateful for the ongoing support of Vanuatu Cricket from various Australian agencies, helping us do what we do, better.

PacificAus Sports has made the recent tournament in PNG and the Aussie Indigenous teams' here in 2023 possible; Team Up and its predecessor has funded our Appeal Against Violence and before that, Women's Island Cricket for over 13 years.

Moreover the additional assistance in prioritised visa services, especially in emergency situations, has seen them go 'above and beyond' countless times for us.

Tankiu Tumas!

Prior to the devastating earthquake that struck Vanuatu on December 17, I spoke with Jack of the Dibbly-Dobbly Podcast about all things Vanuatu Cricket, Emerging Cricket, and my own journey.

Hopefully, all the great stories and initiatives we discuss about cricket in Vanuatu will continue to grow as we recover and rebuild together.

The link to episode two is in the comments.

Three down and (at least) three more to go. (aka “a bit of personal news”)

Three years ago (literally today!) arriving in Port Vila felt like landing on another planet in many ways. And last night this inspirational group of people made global history.

Thirty-six months down the road, despite a myriad of challenges including back-to-back Cat 4 cyclones, dozens of cricketers taking up seasonal work overseas, funding uncertainty locally and from the global body, the characteristic ni-Vanuatu “resilience” has rung true, but, not just to recover or withstand - but to grow and improve.

Considering the serendipitous timing, it appears apt to announce, that on the completion of my first contract, the VCA Board tabled another offer which runs until the end of 2026, which I enthusiastically accepted.

Looking forward to being part of the inspiring story of this country and our people for a while yet. Because, we are not done yet!

🎉 Making history on multiple fronts! 🎉 The Holiday Inn Resort Vanuatu Women's cricket team not only marked their debut in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier - the first time our nation has ever qualified for this prestigious event - but they also secured a landmark victory against full member nation, Zimbabwe! 🏏💥 Ranked 12th in ICC Women's T20I.

Zimbabwe faced a fierce challenge from our Vanuatu squad, but they stood tall and clinched a decisive win, putting the world on notice! 🌏🔥 Congratulations to our unstoppable team for their incredible achievement! 🥳🇻🇺

No need for any clickbait titles here to draw you in here - because this story is truly inspiring. And something all of Vanuatu has every right to be immensely proud of.

Eight of the players in green in this photo have been balancing cricket with seasonal work (ie picking fruit) in Australia for the last 6 months. The other seven train when not at work, uni, or HIGH SCHOOL.

It would've been reasonable for Sri Lanka not to want to continue after passing 58. They've just returned from a long South African tour and hope to play 6 T20Is over the next fortnight as they try to qualify for the ICC T20 World Cup, but no, they also wanted to play on, for both teams' sakes.

This practice game was the first time any Vanuatu team had played against a Test nation in any format, and tomorrow's T20I will be the first official international against a Full member when they line up against Zimbabwe in their first of four group stage matches. Can't wait!

🏏 Vanuatu Cricket achieved a historic milestone last night! Our Holiday Inn Resort Vanuatu Women's Team faced off against none other than powerhouse Sri Lanka, a full member nation in the ICC and currently ranked 7th in ICC Women's T20 Internationals. This marked a groundbreaking moment for both our men's and women's teams!
