FUN FACT about Margaret:
Return to school (USP) in 2021 after turning “half a century+ younger and in 2022 received a Professional Diploma in Public Sector Management.
My favorite poet, Maya Angelou, once said, "If you're always trying to be normal, you'll never know how great you may be." Going back to school reawakened my passion for studying, and I flourished under the strain of schoolwork, the arduous 2000+ word essay, and the never-ending late nights. The culmination of my efforts, though, was receiving my diploma and witnessing my hard work pay off. Continuing my love of learning, I just been informed of my successful application for my Master of Business Administration, 2022 – You are never too old to Learn.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
Personal;
I was a born and raised Kiwi girl, so moving our small family of three (ages 12 years, 6 years, and 5 months) to Tokelau in 2004 was overwhelming, but also exciting. However, exposing my children to their culture, society, and religion gave them a solid foundation that allowed them to grow into the resilient, smart, and modest young adults they are now. We valued the fact that all three (three) of them) are bilingual and have a knowledge of both spoken and written Tokelau. As a parent and mother, that would be my biggest career highlight
In addition, as earlier mentioned in “Fun Fact”, returning back to school was a personal and professional achievement for me.
Professional
Previously spent over 20 years working for the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA), New Zealand. becoming one of the first Pacific Island Team Leaders in the Passport Division after starting off as a junior NZ passport officer. I also worked for a number of years, first as a policy officer in the business unit and subsequently as a training officer, but for the majority of that time, I was employed by the NZ Passport division.
2004 – My husband moved our tiny family of three (three) to Tokelau Island after signing a project with NZ Foreign Affairs (MFAT), and we stayed there till 2016. I was given the responsibility of facilitating and formulating of the first Job Descriptions (draft), which were endorsed and are still in use today, through meetings with public employees during that period. For the most of my stay there, I worked as an employee for the Office of the Taupulega (Village Council) as a human resources manager and senior adviser to the office.

Super 4 2022 – Ultimate Goals
My coaching objective is to observe players put what they have learned over the past three weeks into practice in their games and on an individual basis over the course of the following three days. The ultimate objective would therefore be the retention of the abilities that they have learned, and whether or not they utilize it inside their own play or their club in 2023. Otherwise, the goal might not be achieved.
I want the netball athletes who want to represent their country internationally to learn everything they can from their coaches and teammates. Use this platform to showcase their skills while also learning how to adjust to playing with a new team, performing in front of an audience, and not to mention the games being broadcast, as these factors can be intimidating and have an effect on your personal performance.
Would also like to see the Saint Super 4 competition become and annual event!
We wish Coach Margaret all the best in this year’s SS4L!
