With just a week to go before the OFC Men's Championship League kicks off, we’re excited to introduce our Vaivase team, who will proudly represent Samoa Football this year.

This is the Vaivase team's second consecutive appearance in the league, and once again, Xavier will lead as captain following their first championship in Tahiti in 2024.

Xavier has a remarkable background, having represented Samoa in the U20 and earning his place on the National team for last year's World Cup qualifiers in New Zealand.

As the attacking midfielder, he is eager to showcase his skills in the upcoming championship hosted in Samoa this month. The team is ready to give their all on the field!

We are excited to introduce our next player, Tavita Alapati, who will be taking on the crucial role of Right Back in the upcoming OFC Men's Championship 2026.

Tavita joined our team after an impressive journey, having earned a spot in the Champions League Qualifier in 2024, held in Tonga. This marks an important chapter in his career as he prepares to compete in the OFC Men's League for the second time. His inaugural match in this prestigious tournament took place in 2024 in Tahiti, where he demonstrated his skills and determination on the field.

As he gears up to represent Samoa Football and Vaivase FC, Tavita is ready to showcase his talent and commitment in this highly anticipated league, set to kick off at the end of the month. We look forward to seeing him in action and contributing to the team's success!

Introducing Jay Popese, a talented footballer who has made a significant impact on the sport. After previously showcasing his skills with Vaipuna, Jay is now excited to take on a new challenge with Vaivase as they compete in the prestigious OFC Men's Championship in 2026.

Jay's journey in football has been nothing short of remarkable. He earned the privilege of being a National Team player, participating in an intensive training program in China in 2019. His dedication to the sport was evident as he represented Samoa at various competitive levels, including his time with the U20 team in 2016 and the National Futsal Team. More recently, he contributed to the National Team in the Nations Cup in 2024 and participated in the World Cup qualifiers held in Tonga the same year.

Through these diverse experiences on the field, Jay has honed his craft, developing a versatile skill set that allows him to play effectively as both a right and left back. His tenacity and commitment to the game position him as a key player for Vaivase FC, where he aims to proudly represent Samoa Football in the upcoming tournament.

We are excited to introduce our next player, Falaniko Nanumea, who will take to the field as a Left Wing in the upcoming OFC Men's Championship 2026.

Falaniko has an impressive track record, having represented Samoa at various levels, including the U17, U20, and U23 Futsal teams, as well as the National Futsal Team. His passion for the sport also saw him don the Samoan colors in football at the South Pacific Games (SPG) in 2019, where he showcased his skills on a larger stage.

This championship marks another milestone for Falaniko, as it is not his first experience in this tournament. He previously played in the 2024 Satai Champions League, competing fiercely in both Tonga and Tahiti. With his experience and dedication, he is poised to make a significant impact in this year’s championship.

Introducing our next player, Jerrymiah Maiava, an agile and skilled player set to take on the vital role of centre back.

Jerrymiah has proudly represented Samoa on the international stage, competing in various tournaments in both Fiji and Vanuatu with national teams, including the U20 and U23 squads. His experience in these competitive environments has honed his tactical awareness and defensive prowess.

In addition to his football talents, he has also made a mark in futsal, showcasing his agility and quick decision-making by representing Samoa in the South Pacific Games (SPG) back in 2009. Now, Jerrymiah is prepared to channel his passion and experience as he takes the field for Vaivase FC in the upcoming championship, ready to leave a lasting impression on both teammates and opponents alike.
