⛵️AYC SAILING SCHEDULE – LATE AUGUST & SEPTEMBER⛵️

We’ve put together the late August and full September sailing schedule so everyone can plan ahead!

You’ll notice that we’re doing things a little differently with the session times. Rather than having all fleets sail at the same time, some sessions will be split by fleet for example, Optimists may sail earlier, followed by Lasers and Hobie Cats.

This new structure will allow us to have more focused training sessions, giving each group more attention based on their confidence, current skill level and progression towards racing.

We’re looking forward to building stronger skills and confidence across all our fleets as we continue through the season.

After a couple of weeks off, it was awesome to see some of our sailors back out on Saturday afternoon. Yes it was windy as, but that didn’t stop Commodore Aloma and team showing up ready to sail and practice their skills!
Plenty of brave sailing from our Opti sailors too, well done to you all!!

Sailing - 18/06/2026

Last week we got some good practice in light winds and tacking to windward. It’s an early tide this week, so early start and early finish (ish)!

We want to work on: sailing upwind, mark rounding, sailing on a run, gybing!

Last weekend we were honoured to connect with Ray Copeland, Commodore of Torbay Sailing Club, and Paula Copeland, Secretary of Torbay Sailing Club.

AYC and Torbay first began our sister club relationship in 2006/07, with sailor exchanges, camps and regattas for many years. We are excited to continue this partnership under new leadership for both clubs and look forward to more sailing together!
