All I can say is that the Historic National Titles at Broadford has been one of the best events Team 38 has experienced in a very long time. A huge thank you to Shane, Zoe, and Hartwell for putting together such a fantastic race meet — it truly meant a lot to us.
This weekend took us on a real emotional rollercoaster.
Our highs were unforgettable — breaking the lap record not once, but four times, with a 1:05.548. Moments like that remind you why you race… the adrenaline, the teamwork, the feeling of everything coming together.
But racing can change everything in a heartbeat. On the last lap of the last race, our sidecar had a mechanical issue that ended our run with a DNF. After giving it everything, Paddy (Patrick Clancy) and I were absolutely gutted. It’s tough when a weekend filled with such incredible racing ends that way — but that’s the sport we love.
Congratulations to Michael Horner and Steve Bonney — they rode brilliantly and pushed us all weekend.
And from the bottom of our hearts, thank you to every competitor who showed up and raced, and to all the volunteers, officials, and medics who make weekends like this possible. Without you, none of this could happen.
