The Man I'm Becoming (Part 2): Becoming the Man You Were Created to Be

Healing is only the beginning.

The real challenge is becoming the kind of man who lives differently because of it.

In Part 2 of The Man I'm Becoming, the Men's Roundtable goes even deeper into the realities of emotional maturity, breaking generational cycles, rebuilding trust, confronting unhealthy patterns, and choosing intentional growth every single day.

Together, we wrestle with difficult questions every man eventually faces:

Can you heal without losing your ambition?
How do you know you've actually changed?
What does it look like to forgive without forgetting?
What unhealthy beliefs about manhood are still shaping your decisions?
What legacy are you building through the man you're becoming today?

This conversation moves beyond awareness into action, challenging men to exchange performance for authenticity, isolation for brotherhood, and survival for purpose.

Healing may begin with you, but it never ends with you. The man you become will shape your marriage, your children, your friendships, your community, and generations that follow.

Because the greatest legacy a man leaves isn't what he builds—it's who he becomes.

Introduction
John Little has spent the last 25 years reading rooms and reading people. He did it for a decade in the newsroom during the biggest moments in sports.

He's done it in corporate boardrooms, in 1:1 and group coaching sessions, and in conversations with hundreds of executives and leaders across every industry you can think of.

But here's what he realized a few years ago: the way most accomplished men are wired...the way that got them to success is often the exact thing keeping them stuck when life changes.

He saw the pattern repeatedly. Men in their 40s, 50s, some beyond. Different circumstances on the surface. Same disorientation underneath. And almost all of them dealing with it alone, because we just don't talk about this stuff.

He'll tell you about when he had a moment a couple years ago that changed everything. He was doing his morning routine: dropped his son at school, went to the gym, came home, got ready for the day. Looked in the mirror.

And didn't recognize the man looking back.

Not because of how he looked. But because of who he'd become trying to hold everything together. He'd lost his dream job. He was a single dad, parenting his special needs son. He was building his own business. He was grinding as hard as he could just to keep it all moving.

But that moment in the mirror led him somewhere different. He realized he wasn't alone. That there were hundreds of accomplished men his age facing the exact same thing. A shift they couldn't quite name, dealing with it by themselves.

That's when he created The Leader in the Mirror Project, a program to help accomplished men navigate one of the hardest transitions nobody talks about: how to show up as the best version of yourself when the role that defined you starts to shift.

John, welcome. Thanks for being here.

My guest is an ACTUAL A.I. expert - What He Shared Changes EVERYTHING!!

🔴 There’s a very real tension that comes with building something you deeply believe can serve people—while wondering if people actually see the value in it.

🔵 You keep showing up.
⚪ You keep creating.
🔴 You keep believing.

And somewhere along the way, the questions come:

🔴 “Should I keep doing this?”
🔵 “Would anybody miss this if it was gone?”
⚪ “What am I not doing?”

That’s the tightrope.

🔴 Momentum can be exciting… while carrying the weight of feeling like you’re doing it alone.

We have two shows.

🔵 One is widely popular and growing. It’s become the most sought-after show we have.

⚪ The other? At times, it can feel like it barely matters to the very people it was created for.

Yet both were born from real need.
Both were born from real pain.
Both were born from real conviction.

And that raises a bigger question:

🔴 How do you know when it’s time to keep pressing?
🔵 When is it time to pivot?
⚪ And when is it simply time to be patient?

I’ve never had a predetermined date for the “final broadcast.”

And I never assumed I’d be podcasting forever.

But I’ve learned that the answer isn’t always found in the applause, the numbers, or how quickly people respond.

Sometimes you have to step back and honestly evaluate:

🔴 Is the work still good?
🔵 Is it still valuable?
⚪ Is the “why” still strong enough to carry the weight?

If the answer is yes…

Maybe the next step isn’t quitting.

🔴 Maybe it’s listening.
🔵 Maybe it’s adjusting.
⚪ Maybe it’s growing.
🔴 Maybe it’s simply continuing long enough for the right people to find it.

So to the creatives, entrepreneurs, leaders, builders, dreamers, and people quietly carrying something they believe matters:

You are allowed to question it.

You are allowed to wonder.

You are allowed to reassess the work without abandoning the mission.

And you don’t have to have the answer tonight.

🔵 Sometimes the most important thing you can do is sit with the questions long enough to hear the answer.

What are you building right now that you’re not sure anyone sees yet?

And perhaps more importantly:

🔴 What would happen if you gave it just a little more time?

🔴 Keep building.
🔵 Keep evaluating.
⚪ Keep asking why.

The breakthrough may not look like what you imagined.

But make sure there’s still enough WHY behind the work to make the unknown worth walking into.
