Division 2 Result
Rossin Rovers 0
Albion Rovers 2
Albion secured another hard earned 3pts on Sunday morning in Rossin. A goal each side of the break made sure of it for Pat "Mini" Mohan's men.
Albion started brightly creating chances in the opening exchanges but not really testing Eanna Mooney in the Rossin Rovers goal. Rossin themselves had a couple of chances from corners and free kicks but Albions netminder Niall Mc Donnell was never forced into a save.
The first goal of the game came when Dylan Kirwan beat 4 Rossin players before he squared the ball back from the endline to striker Adam Gartland who did enough to finish from close range.
Albion took a 1-0 lead into half time and felt as though they had yet to get out of first gear.
Rossin changed tactics in the 2nd half moving captain James Butler up top and began to then lose their battle in midfield as a result of this.
Albion scored their 2nd goal when Helder Mota took one of his bullet lik long throws and it was this time met at the front post by Helder Goncalves who nodded the ball home to the far corner.
Rossin then had a couple of chance's in the dying moments to get back into the game but they found the back four of Albion once again in outstanding form.
Pat Mohan's men have now not conceeded in their last 3 outings and hope to take this fine form into Thursdays home match against woodview.
Rossin felt that 2 mistakes cost them the game and at the moment Albion are pouncing on others mistakes and taking their chances.
Best on the day for Albion McDonnell, Kirwan, Gartland and Man of the Match Helder Mota.
