Bacolod City threw a massive hero's welcome for the BCNHS Softball Girls Team as they returned from Washington, USA, with a historic World Series Bronze Medal. Mayor G proudly led the celebration, praising the team for achieving the city's highest softball honor to date. For Mayor G, their victory is a powerful testament to the world-class potential of the Bacolodnon youth given appropriate support.

Knowing the sweat, tears, and sacrifice it took to reach the global stage, Mayor G made sure the city did more than just cheer. He announced official financial incentives to reward the team. The softbelles' world-class talent shined so brightly that one standout player even secured a life-changing offer from Washington University, showing exactly what happens when local talent gets the right support.

Urging the athletes to keep dreaming big, Mayor G promised that his administration will always have their backs.

Today, Mayor G ordered the clearing of structures encroaching on the local creek at GK Village, Banago. City enforcers braced for resistance from residents. Instead, they found something rare - cooperation from residents.

The residents willingly stepped aside because they have already seen the results of the city's clearing operations since last year. Local resident Amelyn Llena expressed her appreciation and relief.

"Despite the very heavy rains in the recent days, it didn't flood in our place," she said.

For Mayor G, the next generation matters far more than any election. He has stated time and again that he does not care about the political cost of these decisions. Popularity doesn't stop floods, but action does. He will continue making the tough, necessary decisions for the welfare of Bacolod City. 🧡

Since assuming office, Mayor G has gone on a serious crackdown on delinquent city employees, emphasizing that city personnel are paid by taxes, and as such, must be held accountable to work diligently and solely for the Bacolodnon public. The serious campaign has resulted in administrative action against 48 employees to date.

Of the 48 employees, 33 face action for allegedly falsifying documents, 12 for various misconduct, 2 for unauthorized nighttime collections, and 1 for sexual misconduct.

Demonstrating concrete consequences, the city has already dismissed a Bacolod City College faculty member following allegations of sexual misconduct, and 3 employees have been dropped from the rolls due to cases of absence without official leave (AWOL), as 44 actions remain ongoing.

Mayor G continues his warning against delinquent city employees - arrogance, entitlement, abuse, and neglect have no place in public service. Public office is a sacred mandate, not a personal privilege. City employees must uphold public trust and deliver the highest standard of service - or face consequences.

The State of the City Address is where Bacolod measures its progress and maps its future. It is a necessary accounting of milestones. Yet, as Mayor G delivered his report, he made an announcement that captured the core of his administration. He stated that leadership is about doing the work, not staging it.

The P3 million budget meant to produce the event was going to charity instead.

Mayor G emphasized that a mayor's mandate extends beyond casting a vision. The actual work is ensuring public resources create impact. Rather than spending on ceremony, his approach to governance relies on practical, daily delivery. Putting his own event budget into the hands of community partners is a direct extension of that work ethic.

The P3 million was distributed to nine institutions the city supports annually: Holy Family Home, Saint Vincent's Home, Bacolod Girls Home, Holy Infant Nursery, Fray Luis Amigo Health Center, Kalipay Negrense Foundation, NORFI, the Association of Negros Producers, and the Slow Food Movement.
Bacolod has a clear direction.

By turning a production budget into funding for shelters, medical care, and local trades, and keeping the SOCA simple, Mayor G emphasized that his priority is not the podium. Mayor G's priority is to work, work, and work! 🧡
