Powerlifting Coach: Dedicated to advancing strength training by perfecting exercise technique, estab

I started Brute Force Strength to share what I have learned over my decades of strength training and powerlifting. When I was coming up through the ranks, I found a lack of sound training advice aimed squarely at building strength. Much of the literature out there was aimed squarely at selling magazines. Over the last decade the Internet has changed that dramatically. The difficulty now is in sort

competed today at the European Powerlifting championships after winning the Finnish Bench Press Championships last weekend.
She worked her ass off, as she always does, going 6 for 9, finishing with a 130kg squat, 75kg bench, and ground out a 155kg deadlift (after which being carried off the platform).
She left it all out there and finished 4th in the M1 57kg class.
She is an amazing lifter!

Back in the olden day, maybe 2016 or 2017, some ma*****st so*******ch came up with something called a Deadlift 30 Minute Challenge. Now the name alone should be enough to make wise men steer clear.
But then, I have never been accused of being wise.
The Deadlift 30 Minute Challenge has you deadlift 315lbs for as many reps as you can do in 30 minutes.
315lbs you say? Child’s play!
Let’s do 505lbs.
As many of you know, the first rep of a deadlift set is the hardest. Subsequent reps you can use the eccentric part of the rep to prime the stretch reflex making them a bit easier.
As you also know, when deadlifting 505lbs in a 30 minute challenge, after 3 sets all of the sets are single rep sets…making all of the reps much harder.
Before passing, receiving last rights and accepting our final judgement, the standings were:
Headband Larry: 505lbs x 21 reps
Ken: 505lbs x 16 reps
Joe: 315-335 x 35 reps

And then, my friend, you die.
