🚨 URGENT TOURNAMENT UPDATE from Nadi Chess Club 🚨

Please be advised of an OFFICIAL TOURNAMENT ANNOUNCEMENT.

Due to unforeseen venue unavailability at UniFiji for our originally scheduled date, our upcoming FIDE Rated Blitz Tournament has been RE-SCHEDULED.

The tournament is now POSTPONED TO SUNDAY, 3RD MAY.

Please see the updated flyer below for crucial new details.

Don't worry! Your registrations remain VALID, and your spots are secure for the new date.

🆕 FOR NEW PLAYERS:
The silver lining: Registration is now open again for the new date! This is your second chance to join the West's premier chess event.

Bula! We apologise for not being able to hold any kid's beginner sessions this month. The venue we use is under renovation and will be available for hire from next month (May) which is when we will resume the beginner session.

♟️ Fiji Chess Federation 2026 AGM♟️

The Fiji Chess Federation successfully held its Annual General Meeting on Saturday, 28 March 2026 at Fiji Olympic House, Suva, with around 50 members in attendance.

The meeting was chaired by President Hilda Kunau, who also presented the President’s Report for 2025, highlighting a year of steady growth, international engagement, and strengthened governance. Audited financial statements were also presented, reflecting the Federation’s continued commitment to transparency and accountability.

🌏 Key Highlights from 2025:
• Participation in the Oceania Youth Zonal Chess Championship in Brisbane, Australia
• A full calendar of national tournaments across Suva and Lautoka
• Community outreach through International Chess Day and Olympic Day activities
• Growth in FIDE-rated participation and online engagement
• Strengthened governance, including audited accounts and policy development
