In a pre cursor to this year's 2014 AFL Grand Final and as final round up to the Bachar Houli 2014 Academy, two teams of extremely talented young men took to the haloed turf at Punt Road Oval, to battle it out and have a final fling for the season. Whilst Bachar's team had the advantage of having just completed an intense week of bonding, training and personal skills. The All Nations team, under the watchful eye of Peter Dye and Daniel Charles, kept up a strong challenge and did not drop their heads despite the scoreboard being decidedly one sided. We look forward to seeing many of these young hopefuls in the years to come.

Tarir Bayok, who represented Sudan and WA as part of the AFL World XVIII team won the Mark Browning Medal, voted best player for Division three. Mark is a former Sydney Swans player and now works for the AFL with their talent program.
Tarir was also the winner of the Australia Post, MVP award, for the world team. Tarir exhibited outstanding game skills and leadership throughout the competition. A worthy winner. Congratulations Tarir.

GOLD COAST SONS
On behalf of the parents and families of the the AFL World XVIII,
can I take this opportunity to thank thank the AFL, NAB, and other affiliated sponsors for supporting multicultural football development.

In particular, thanks to Anthony Koutoufides and David Rodan for their coaching, mentoring and guidance with the boys.
A huge thanks to Amelia for all the organising and teenage wrangling! A big thank you also to Josh, Nick, KG and Will for their support throughout the week.

Whilst the scores on the board may not have been what the team would have liked, the bonding, on and off ground experiences and player development across the week will help stand the boys in good stead as they follow their chosen sporting paths into the future.
