Three of the biggest names in sports are investing in the future of Oklahoma City.

NFL QB and Heisman winner Baker Mayfield, NBA champion and Thunder forward Jalen Williams, and Olympic gold medalist and world record holder Sydney McLaughlin are joining Echo Investment's partner group behind OKC’s new professional soccer club and downtown stadium district.

They join an ownership group that includes Christian Kanady, Russell Westbrook, Jozy Altidore, The Chickasaw Nation, and Nick Gross.

Echo Founder and CEO Christian Kanady put it best: "This is a defining moment for Oklahoma City. To have athletes of this caliber put their names and capital behind our vision is extraordinary. Together with Russell and Jozy, this roster reflects a level of conviction in OKC's future you rarely see around a single project."

, President of the Football Association of Czechia, visited Oklahoma City to see the multipurpose stadium site and talk through soccer collaboration between OKC and Czechia.

After seeing the vision behind Oklahoma City's development firsthand, Trunda said he "fell into love with it because it's very similar to mine."
OKC For Soccer Sporting Director Sead Karaselimović put it simply: "We want to cooperate. We want to work together. We want to share experiences."

U.S. Soccer Designates Oklahoma City a National Soccer Forward Community

One of only three cities in the nation. The only one outside a 2026 FIFA World Cup host city.

Behind this designation are the people who have been doing the work for decades. Oklahoma City Public Schools and Fields & Futures have partnered since 2012 to build and maintain 32 soccer and futsal play spaces across the urban core — building the foundation that made this moment possible.
