Volunteers wanted!
Tomorrow morning Ashbourne Tidy Towns are doing the Annual River Broadmeadow clean up.
We will be picking litter and removing rubbish from the river bed and along the river banks. 🦆
Starting at 10am and continuing until 2pm. If you can make the whole 4 hours or just do an hour, all help is really appreciated.
We hope to plant a mix native Irish trees varieties including birch, crab apple, alder and oak. 🌳
Come along and join the team. This is a family friendly event. Only experienced people will be entering the waterway. River levels are moderate but accessible. 😎
Meeting at the Ashbourne Playground

We are also asking resident associations to join us on the day for An Tasice National Spring clean - organise a litter pick in your estate and help us to ‘Keep Ashbourne Beautiful”

This morning, some of our Tidy Town volunteers were out repainting over the graffiti that appeared on our long-awaited skate park just a few days ago 🛹✨

We’ve all been so excited for this space, and now it’s here — it belongs to all of us. We’d really love to keep it looking new and clean for everyone to enjoy.

So just a quick (slightly paint-covered 😄) reminder: please help keep it tidy, use the bins and take care of what we have.
Let’s keep the park paint-free and welcoming for everyone.

A busy week for all the wonderful volunteers in Ashbourne Tidy Towns.
At the Pride of Place Ashbourne Municipal District Awards we won the large town category and go up against the other 5 districts in the coming weeks 🤞. We have never won the county award…..
From the feedback we received, our judge Aoife Munn was happy with our efforts however despite various campaigns for dog fouling (bags/bins/pavement stencils), we lost marks here and for the overuse, by the Council and residential management gardening contractors, of round up and other similar herbicides/pesticides.
Our photos are from the night, a photo this morning where we erected our lovely new sign as gaeilge agus as bearla. And the baskets loaded and removed from Killegland and Declan streets.
We had our committee meeting on Friday evening and will update this page on the many items discussed. Including our points tally and feedback from this year’s National Tidy Towms awards.

Part of our Pride of Place feedback this week with Aoife Munn was around dog foul, while we feel we’ve done a lot with our yellow dedicated bins and green foul bag dispensers, this weekend we’ve put some decals around town to remind all dog owners to please pick up after your dogs! Read the survey below that give an interesting insight into what dog poo analysis has revealed and the dangers associated

We are asking our civic minded residents and businesses to pay a little extra attention on the cleanliness of the street and pavements today, ♻️🗑️🚮

The place is looking fab so let’s all get behind our town!

Even those that give out constantly on various platforms but never actually get up of their arses can help out today and spread some positivity for a change! 🤣😇🥰
