✅OVERHEAD LANDMINE LUNGE ✅
This is a fun lunge variation to throw into your routine. It definitely requires you to be stable and super concentrated throughout the entire set.
Some notes:
▪️Keep the overhead arm STRAIGHT (pushing up into the weight)
▪️Lunge back with the leg on the same side that you are overhead
▪️Slow and steady > weight on this variation

A better way to load the rear foot elevated split squat? 🤯✅
Don’t tell me you’re using a leaning over split squat to translate into your low bar back squat 😂
This is one of my favorite leg exercises and I think it would be awesome if everyone perform it flawlessly. That’s not the case being these are definitely challenging and people tend to go too heavy.
I’d suggest mastering the goblet loaded version, then moving to holding the weights at your side.

There is always a variable that you can add in to make an exercise harder. Here’s a great example:
➡️The heaviest DBs I have are 45lbs
➡️I can easily do 45lbs for 3x15
➡️Doing 3x15 doesn’t really give me a great training stimulus any more
I could keep adding more reps and sets, but instead I like to add in a deficit. This means I’m standing on a raised surface (bumper plate). I like this because it:
➡️Adds range of motion (ROM), which
➡️Recruits more muscle, which
➡️Makes your muscles bigger and stronger

I’ve been really enjoying training 4x per week. Here is a general template about some ways that you could implement a 4 day per week strength training program.
I always use templates like this and switch up the variations every 4 weeks. Let me know if you have any questions 👍🏻

Squatting will help your running, but running won’t help your squatting 🤔
Here’s the rundown:
➡️if your sport is very anaerobic (ex. powerlifting) then adding in aerobic training sessions is going to negatively effect your performance. For sport specific training, there’s no reason that a powerlifter, baseball player, or golfer would need to use long endurance training.
➡️if your sport is very aerobic (ex. triathlete) then adding in 2-3 anaerobic strength sessions is very beneficial and a piece of training that many endurance athletes overlook.
BUT THERE’S MORE‼️
➡️if you are not training for a specific sport (most people) then do what makes you happy. Training both anaerobic and aerobic simultaneously is doable, but results in slower strength increases.

Tell everyone you know 🗣
Even grandma 👵
The purpose of strength training is to keep you moving and functioning through various movement patterns.
Sitting down, bending over, holding something over your head.
It’s not about “catching a pump” even though that is fun and all. It’s not about maxing out every single day. It’s about you being able to move and maintain a strong structure.
So start strength training.
If you need help figuring this stuff out then check out the online coaching section of NUCLEARSTRONG.COM.
