Now THIS is a pretty great way to spend a day in Saba! 💙⚓

As part of Sea & Learn Foundation 2026, local teens from Aqua Vibes and came aboard Caribbean Explorer II to get a firsthand look at life at sea — exploring the vessel, learning from Captain Amber and crew, and discovering some of the many careers that can come with working on the water. 🌊

Explorer Ventures has been connected to Saba since 1987, and getting to share a little of the world aboard with the island’s next generation was something pretty special.

We’re proud to support the incredible work of Sea & Learn and loved being part of this year’s program!

A big thank you to Aqua Vibes, , Sea Saba Dive Center and Saba Conservation Foundation for making opportunities like this happen. 💙

A liveaboard week with more than diving on the schedule 🔬🪸🤿

Recently Turks & Caicos Explorer II welcomed Turks And Caicos Reef Fund and participants in the RumPowered Research Expo 2026 aboard for six days of hands-on coral research in the waters of East Caicos — and DDSPLASH captured this awesome behind the scenes look at the experience!

From sample collection and species monitoring to underwater imaging and 3D modeling, the week offered a firsthand look at some of the work being done to better understand and protect the reefs of the Turks & Caicos.

We love seeing the vessel become a platform for science, learning, and collaboration for the week — and even better, seeing the experience through the eyes of those who joined the expedition. 💙

What ARE these?! 👀💙

They may look like tiny neon balloons glowing on the reef, but these are actually blue painted tunicates (Clavelina picta) — fascinating little filter feeders that form colonies along the reef.

It’s the kind of reward you get for slowing down and looking a little closer. There’s always something interesting hiding in the tiny details around St. Kitts. 🔎

A little behind-the-scenes look aboard Caribbean Explorer II as the crew runs a man-overboard drill — one of the regular safety exercises that keeps everyone sharp, prepared, and ready to respond when it matters.

It may not be the part of liveaboard diving guests see every day, but it’s an important part of what happens behind the scenes.

Because a great week of diving starts with a crew that’s ready for anything.
