What a lekker comp we had at Jackie Leonard this past weekend. It was our last weekend comp before the winter.
We were supposed to fish Ou Plaas however the owner notified us that the venue is unfishable due to the water that has risen and the roads are flooded.
Rudi Van Der Merwe (visitor) won the Friday Night Social Barbel Comp with a Barbel of 3.459 kg. Congrats Rudi.
Jackie delivered as usual with lots of fish coming out.

The Alberton Angling Club fished Kollege Plaas (River Side) the weekend.
The weather was lekker. Thanks to Norem, the owner, for cordoning an area off for our competition.
The Friday Social Barbel Comp was won by Juan Theron with a Barbel of 2.155 kg. Congrats Juan 👏
The fishing was difficult on Saturday with only 2 pegs weighing in however at Sundays final weigh-in things looked much better.
The highlights of the comp was Juan Theron being dunked for his PB Barbel of 7.070 kg. Congrats Juan 👏
And off course what would a comp be without something going wrong like André's Amarok on a lowbed truck due to a snapped fan belt 🫣

We had our Club Comp at Ardenza this past weekend.
The Friday Social Barbel comp kicked off with André Theron landing the first Barbel of
5.050 kg. It started raining on and off throughout the day and then Josh and his son Jamie caught a few Barbels however André's Barbel was the heaviest for the comp. Congrats André 👏
The official comp started Saturday morning with a cold breeze but it warmed up during the day and then the wind started pumping Saturday night till Sunday morning.
The highlights of the weekend was Dirk Swart who landed his PB Barbel of 14.620 kg and André Theron who landed his PB Grass Carp of 6.725 kg. Congrats Gents 👏👏

We had a lekkerrr comp this weekend at Jan Se Plek Wilgerivier side.
It was hot...very very hot 🥵
The Friday Night Social Barbel comp kicked off with a few small Barbels but then The Barbel Whisperer, Nick, landed the winning Barbel of 3.230kg. Congrats Nick 👏.
The club comp started Saturday morning 07:00 till 12:00 Sunday afternoon with a weigh-in in between.
The highlights of the the weekend was Dirk Swart, a new member, who landed a massive 12.6kg Barbel on a Carp rod and Vaskap Oosie with a new Pegmate "Bella" who followed him everywhere, even when landing his fish 😂

The Club's 2026 year started with a comp at Porcupine Bay - Vaaldam.
As usual the weekend kicked off with the Friday Night Social Barbel Comp. The 🌬️ was pumping and then came the 🌧️.
Mark Oosthuizen, aka Vaskap Oosie, landed the only Barbel of 2.035 kg during the Social Comp.
The official comp started 07:00 with the wind pumping non stop. The 🎣 proofed to be difficult as very little 🐟 were weighed at the 1st weigh-in.
We joined the Schlebusch family with braai after weigh-in to celebrate their daughter, Margaret's, 12th birthday. Thank you to the Schlebusch family for a lekker spread.👌
Sunday's weigh-in was definitely much better with some duk carp on the ⚖️.
