In keeping with our commitment of bringing top class international instructors to South Africa, United Shotokan-Ryu is looking forward to welcoming Pascal Lecourt Sensei (7th dan, France) to South Africa in October. This occasion will mark Lecourt Sensei’s fourth visit to South African shores. Seminars will be held in Gauteng (12th October), the Eastern Cape (Makhanda/Grahamstown) on the 13th October and the Western Cape (Brackenfell, Cape Town) on the 16th October.

Lecourt Sensei was a senior student of the legendary Japanese karate master, Taiji Kase Sensei (1929-2004) and is one of the world’s foremost authorities on Kase Sensei's unique form of Shotokan karate. The style, which is fondly known throughout the world as Kase-Ha, is a pure form of Japanese Budo which emphasises the use of powerful large-scale blocking and striking techniques based on the use of the Japanese katana (sword). As the first Japanese Shotokan Master from the JKA to visit South Africa in 1964, Kase Sensei has had a profound and significant influence on Shotokan Karate in this Country.

Karateka, irrespective of style and affiliation (12yrs and older, 7th kyu orange and above) are invited to join us for what promises to be another phenomenal seminar led by the masterful Pascal Lecourt Sensei.
