This morning we ran with heavy hearts, but with purpose.

To every runner who showed up this morning - thank you.

Thank you for lacing up when it would have been easier to stay home. Thank you for showing up not for a medal, not for a PB, but for a person. For Elizabeth, Tsontso Moselakgomo. An honest and pure display of the spirit of ubuntu

We ran through our sadness, our anger, and our disbelief. Every step was a statement that says: we will not forget her, we will not be silent about the violence that took her, and we will not let fear take away our roads. Every step was a silent prayer to commit her precious soul to the hands of our Creator.

Thank you for honouring Tsontso with your presence, your love, and your kilometres.
May we continue to run for her, until justice is served.

To Elizabeth's precious daughter, her family, her friends, and to all who loved her -

There are no words that can ease the pain of such a cruel and senseless loss. What happened to Tsontso was brutal, unjust, and has left all of us shattered.

Tsonsto, was one of us. A fellow runner. A light on our morning routes. Someone who understood the joy of putting one foot in front of the other. To lose her in this way is something we will never make sense of.
To the broader running community - especially our women who run with keys in their hands and fear in their hearts - let's continue to look out for one another. Let's run together, speak up together, and protect each other.

Tsontso, we will keep running for you. Your name will stay on our lips and in our hearts on every road we run.
Rest in peace, fellow runner. Rest in power.
