Sport doesn't give you what you want. You will want to be the best on any given day, you may even want the greatest day you've ever had. And it will take everything from you in the snap of a finger. But if you give it everything you have, if you focus on your character when others focus on their fears, you never lose. But most importantly you find something you never knew you wanted but get to keep forever. A version of you that can weather the toughest storms, that can find a way back to the path, that can pick yourself up when others would stay down. Because sport may not give you what you want. But it will build you into someone better than you ever hoped to be.
