awesome trial at skipskop/arniston. few yellow tail to be found but plenty bottom fish pushed up by the thermocline. everybody thought they did well until casper weighed in. congrats casper

its not too late to enter. forecast for arniston looking ok.

1st wp trial under the belt at /arniston.
the wind changed from west to east on saturday morning and we were taking the gap before the viz deteriorated. after a spine jarring trip to skipskop we found the viz to be ok ,but the yellow tail were nowhere to be seen. it was a scratch for bottom fish and scores were close.robert moreland managed to find a nice 10 kilo yellow tail.
thanks to all for taking part, its always a fun day out at arniston,the big yellow tail is just a bonus :)

Hi to all the recreational kreefers out there.
Just a short note to let every know where we stand as far as the above mentioned season is concerned. We have been allocated 69 tons, 17% less than last year. At this stage the allocation is just a proposal which fisheries management will hopefully forward as a recommendation to the Minister. I say hopefully, as individuals in the other sectors want the recreational sector shut down completely. Using the Abalone sector as an example.
At this stage RFS HAS sent a letter to Dennis Fredericks, the Minister and the DDG, hoping to influence the outcome of the final TAC document and that which is Gazetted as our season. We wait patiently and in anticipation of a positive outcome. I hope to see a TAC document in this week. Let you know as soon as i know what our season will look like, and if we are having a season.
