Bringing with him a wealth of coaching experience, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of the game, Gerhard is widely respected for his professionalism, strong work ethic, and exceptional cricketing knowledge. His ability to connect with players, nurture talent, and contribute strategically to team performance will be a tremendous asset to our high-performance environment.

Eastern Storm is proud to welcome Xolane Shongwe as our new Strength & Conditioning Coach!

With over five years of experience in competitive cricket, Xolane joins the Storm after his successful tenure with Limpopo Impala Cricket, where he played a key role in the team's CSA Division 2 Championship-winning 2023/24 campaign.

A former semi-professional cricketer and holder of a CSA Level II Cricket Coaching Qualification, Xolane brings a unique blend of practical playing experience and specialist knowledge in athlete development, performance enhancement, and injury prevention.

His passion for helping athletes reach their full potential will be a valuable asset to our high-performance environment as we continue striving for excellence on and off the field.

A huge congratulations to Kamogelo Paul Matlala on his selection to the South Africa U/19 Men's Squad for the England Tour 2026! 👏✨

Paul's cricket journey continues to inspire. An accomplished all-rounder and scholar at Elandspark School, he has proudly represented Easterns Cricket through the Easterns Cricket Academy and at the U19 Khaya Majola Week.

His impressive achievements include:

⭐ Representing Easterns at the U19 Khaya Majola Week in 2025 and earning selection to the South African Schools side.
⭐ Receiving both the Bowler of the Tournament and Player of the Tournament awards while representing the CSA Invitational XI at the 2024 Khaya Majola Week.
⭐ Representing the South African LSEN team on numerous occasions.
⭐ Consistently showcasing his talent as a quick bowler and all-round cricketer.

With the ball, A***n brings control, tactical awareness, and the ability to apply pressure during key moments of the game. His batting further strengthens the line-up, giving the team valuable flexibility across different formats and conditions.

A skilled right-arm seamer and dependable lower-order batsman, Chad brings valuable experience, discipline, and control to the bowling unit. Known for his ability to hit consistent lines and execute plans under pressure, he strengthens the Storm attack across all phases of the game.

Coming from Eastern Cape Iinyathi, Chad arrives with a strong understanding of the domestic structure and a proven ability to perform in competitive environments. His professionalism and work ethic set the tone both on and off the field.
