🇿🇦🤼‍♂️ SOUTH AFRICAN GRECO-ROMAN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2026 🤼‍♂️🇿🇦

On Saturday, 30 May 2026, the South African Greco-Roman National Championships took place in Pretoria, delivering a truly historic day for our sport.

With an incredible 591 entries, this event set a new record as the largest Greco-Roman wrestling competition ever held in South Africa.

The day began with weigh-ins at 07:15 and concluded only after 23:00, following more than 760 fiercely contested matches. It was a gruelling test of determination, skill, endurance, and character, showcasing the very best of South African wrestling.

Throughout the day, we witnessed the crowning of many new National Champions, while several former champions fought their way back to the top of the podium. Every wrestler who stepped onto the mat contributed to an unforgettable championship and demonstrated the passion and spirit that continue to drive our sport forward.

A sincere thank you to every wrestler, referee, coach, administrator, team manager, medical official, marketing representative, volunteer, and parent who played a role in making this event such an outstanding success.

Your dedication, sacrifice, and commitment are the foundation upon which South African wrestling continues to grow and thrive.
