An amazing achievement for Tayla Howroyd! πΏπ¦πΊπΈ
Tayla Howroyd was named All-America πΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈ
KANSAS CITY β The NAIA released the All-American teams for the 2025-26 season of women's golf, and the University of Pikeville had a representative.
Tayla Howroyd was named third-team All-America.
Howroyd is a junior from Edenvale, South Africa, and played No. 1 for the Bears, who spent the last week of May competing for the first time in the NAIA national championship tournament.
Howroyd's season was a remarkable one in that she finished in the Top 10 of five of the seven regular-season tournaments in which the Bears competed. That included a three-round total of 228 in the Gibson Bay Invitational, which tied her for the championship.
In addition, Howroyd had another top 5 finish. That came in the East Tennessee Collegiate in Johnson City Sept. 22-23, where she recorded a two-round total of 146 to tie for second.
Howroyd had three other Top 10 finishes this season. She was tied for sixth in April's Music City Classic, where she fired a three-round score of 219. That score was her best of the season in a three-round tournament.
She tied for the eighth in the season opening event, the Rohrman Invitational played at Purdue University, shooting 240 for three rounds.
She finished 10th in the first tournament of the spring semester, the Roadrunner Spring Invitational at Cohutta, Ga., thanks to shooting 227.
For the season, Howroyd averaged 77.23 per round and was named conference player of the week two times.
UPike was one of four teams representing the AAC in the 30-team NAIA national tournament last month in Ypsilanti, Mich. The Bears finished 12th in the field.
