Waves, training, connection and a reminder of what it means to be part of something special.
This weekend, the CTBA team headed up the West Coast to Yzerfontein for a weekend of waves, training and, most importantly, coming together as one.
Saturday brought plenty of swell, along with some seriously thick mist. Visibility was challenging, but that didn’t stop the team from getting out there, putting in the work and making the most of what the ocean had to offer.
Then Sunday arrived — and it was next level.
The team were treated to dream waves and the kind of conditions that make all the early mornings, training sessions and hard work worth it. There were plenty of waves ridden, big smiles and a whole lot of fun in and out of the water.
But the weekend was about much more than surfing.
It was a chance for the riders, coaches and parents to spend time together away from competition, get to know each other better and strengthen the bonds that make this team what it is. From laughs and stories around the campfire to the DJs getting the chalet going, there was no shortage of good times.
More than anything, the weekend reminded us what it takes to be part of something special: showing up for each other, sharing the stoke and being proud of the people beside you.
