We are back!!

Our State President Cyril Ramaphosa has confirmed the easing of restrictions for several non-contact sports – including tennis – under alert level 3 of the national risk adjusted strategy. A communication for the return to tennis has been emailed to all members. The information can also be found on our website.

Coronavirus & Sport: Level 3 regulations edge SA sports federations to the brink The continued suspension of amateur non-contact sports under South Africa’s Level 3 lockdown regulations has pushed the sporting industry closer to the brink of collapse.

Nine non-contact sports federations - including Tennis SA - have issued a joint statement appealing to our national government to consider the economic and health impact of restricting organised sport in South Africa.

The other non-contact sports involved in the joint statement are: Gymnastics, Swimming, Golf, Rowing, Surfing, Canoeing, Cycling and Cricket.

The Honourable Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture is expected to provide more detail and clarifications regarding the sport specific alert level 3 regulations at a media briefing on Saturday.
