Today I spent 28 minutes waiting to be attended to ar Nedbank Tygervalley. I observed a minimum of 8 persons/employees, two of whom seemed to be working and the rest appeared to be inactive for the time I was in the bank. I left very disappointed with the level of service. A first for me with Nedbank. But then again this is the "new South Africa."

To the uneducated public please ask the right questions before you enrol your child at a karate school. You need to know and understand the pedigree of the instructor. Not everybody who puts on a black belt is a good instructor.

Sport karate is exactly that. It differs from traditional karate. Traditional.karate is for self defense.

If the instructor is not a registered and affiliated member of an international organization one needs to wonder why. Who then controls the standard of karate being taught?

Putting on a white karate suit, making some noise and throwing some punches might seem cute but is there structure? What about the instructors understanding of body- mechanics?

Then we have instructors out there that will lower their fees to attract more people. So do you want to shop at Pep or Woolwòrths.

Visit the different karate schools and compare what they do and how they do it. Convenience is not always the key. You might have to travel to be with the best.
