Because we know that parents are tired and kids are busy, we have a lot to keep the little and not so little ones busy.

We want to invite all of our friends to come and support us with our new venture. From the beginning of December we will be open to the public.
Enjoy a relaxing Saturday and Sunday out in the country with a beautiful view of the majestic Magalies Mountain. Enjoy a picnic under the shade of huge trees and listen to the call of the fish eagle.
Come experience farm style hospitality, have a scrumptious brunch, walk your dog, let the kids run free and take home some homemade cookies or rusks.
We also offer holiday camps for kids between 7 and 15, cooking classes for adults and kids and we have a huge shed if you need a rustic place to host your party or year end function.
We are busy opening up paths around the farm where the whole family ride on their bicycles and enjoy the bird life and see the cattle coming home from a day out foraging.

The wall must fall!!!!
After years of hating a screening wall, this past two weeks have seen a dream come true. Again, with the help of Jens-Birger Giebelmann we could brake out the kitchen wall and put in a large sliding door. Now we have the perfect setting to work out of the kitchen directly to the front of the lawn, enabling us to deliver food faster and with minimal fuss. And we have a lovely view on the gardens and majestic Magalies Mountain from behind the stove, making cooking and prepping food a pleasure.

Baking rusks was what my father, Thys van Zyl, did. That is until May last year when he broke his hip. In order not to drop his clients, I took over the baking and tried to keep up with baking rusks as good as he did. I came a long way, but I am proud to say that we are doing good. The bulk of the rusks are still going to Rustenburg and Kroondal, but we are slowly getting a following in and around Harties as well.
Our rusks are baked with real butter and no shortcuts. Rusks sell at R35/500g for both Aniseed and Boerebeskuit.

Whe have been rather busy the past few months on the farm. With the expert help of Jens-Birger Giebelmann we have started to rebuild the kitchen, open up the dining area and build a braai on the stoep. Although not completely finished yet, everything looks great and life in the kitchen greatly improved. Beautiful large granite tops and more work space makes cooking and baking a joy. Thanks to the 2 Danie's and Jens!

It's the start of another week and with that, we have a bit of good and bad news to share with you.

The bad news is: our Cuppa for CANSA fly-in of 11 October is temporarily cancelled due to a few personal family matters we have had.

The good news: we are still planning to host this magnificent event and we'll confirm a new date soon!
