Our goal is to create an environment for all Bishops rugby supporters to engage with both Bishops rugby, and each other. All while having a little fun!

For the school, by the supporters ...The Bishops Rugby Supporters Club aims to encourage greater participation in activities that contribute to the long-term success of Bishops rugby. And while we definitely do not meddle in the actual coaching, we'd certainly like to play a role in establishing a well-resourced coaching infrastructure.

A special afternoon at Piley Rees as the Bishops Heatlie XV welcomed touring side Dulwich College from England. πŸ‰πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

This fixture continues a relationship that dates back to 1974, when Bishops Prep first toured England and played Dulwich, beginning a tradition of rugby, friendship and exchange between the two schools.

Founded in 1619, Dulwich College has a proud rugby history and has produced a number of England internationals. It was a privilege to host them at Bishops and continue a connection that has spanned more than 50 years.

Post-match stories were told, songs were sung, and we wrapped up the evening teaching the Dulwich boys how a proper South African braai is done!

Safe travels for the rest of your South African tour, we hope to welcome you back again soon.

Yesterday we welcomed - Ysgol Gyfun Glantaf - from Wales, one of the country’s leading rugby schools, to Bishops.

Rugby was played, but more importantly friendships were made as players came together around a braai, with Welsh songs carrying into the evening as they concluded their South African tour at the birthplace of the Springbok jersey. Safe travels boys.

A great day on the pitch at the ISRF in Johannesburg, hosted by St David’s. Both our U13 and U18 sides enjoyed successful results, with the U18s finishing the day in style by outplaying our hosts in the final match.

A fitting way to end the day with both teams coming together for a squad photo. Well done to all the players and coaches – a fantastic team effort. πŸ’™πŸ‰

What a fantastic evening at the BRSC Annual Rugby Dinner.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it such a memorable occasion. With a full house, great camaraderie and plenty of laughter, it was a wonderful celebration of the Bishops rugby community and the people who make it special.

Our theme for the evening, The Business of Rugby, sparked some fascinating discussion and insights from our outstanding panel, expertly chaired by Tank Lanning. Thank you to Johan le Roux, Riaan Gous and Suleiman Hartzenberg for sharing their experiences and perspectives.

A particularly special moment was paying tribute to Phil Court for his extraordinary contribution to Bishops over nearly four decades. Few have shaped the lives of so many boys with such dedication, wisdom and humour.

Thank you also to our sponsors, donors, volunteers and everyone behind the scenes who contributed to another successful event. Your support helps us continue to strengthen and support rugby at Bishops. A special mention to our platinum contributors Bruce Jack Wines Natural Selection

We also extend our gratitude to Seclusion Last Word Hotels | Cape Town, Winelands, Big 5 Safari DHL Stormers Urbantonic Constantia Glen Wine Estate De Grendel Wines | Cape Town πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦

Most importantly, thank you to the parents, old boys and friends of Bishops who continue to give their time, energy and generosity to our rugby community.

In anticipation of our *Annual Rugby Dinner* on 11 June 2026, we are excited to announce this year’s panel discussion themed _”The Business of Rugby.”_

In a rapidly evolving rugby landscape, the discussion will explore the journey from schoolboy rugby to the professional game, covering player pathways, leadership, culture, and the commercial realities of modern rugby.

πŸ‰ *Johan Le Roux* , CEO of the DHL Stormers, who will share insights into the journey of acquiring the Stormers and leading one of the world’s premier professional rugby franchises.

πŸ‰ *Riaan Gous* , former Western Province player, who has played a key role in shaping the rugby programme and coaching set-up at Paarl Gimnasium over the past decade, bringing valuable perspective on schoolboy rugby and player development pathways.
