Discover the stoke or improve your surfing skills with 1999 World Big Wave Champion surfer, Cass Collier. health is wealth.
My technique of coaching is called breath to power. fitness conditioning and ocean awareness is a big part of my coaching. The Cass Collier Surf Academy, previously called the South African Surfing Academy, was founded in 1997 by Cass Collier, legendary South African big wave surfer and winner of the second World Big Wave Championship at Todos Santos, Mexico in 1999. The academy started with a cle
ar goal - to encourage the creative and physical development of young South Africans through surf coaching and life skills programmes. The Academy provides a safe and positive environment for the youth to experience the ocean and its benefits. With South Africa’s 3,000km long coastline, it’s not surprising that it has some of the best surf in the world. The academy operates from an area dubbed Surfers Corner, located in Muizenberg, Cape Town. Surfers Corner is a big part of Cape Town’s surf culture and history - and with its shallow sloping beach and long shore breaks, it’s where almost every Cape Town local learned to surf. The academy offers surf coaching to meet everyone's needs. A beginner who has never surfed before, looking for a healthy, revitalising and possibly life changing experience; practised surfers looking to enhance their existing skills; visitors looking to enjoy the surf culture that Cape Town has to offer. Cass Collier and his talented pool of coaches, including Head Coach, Craig Johnson, incorporate ocean awareness, fitness of your mind and your body as well as key elements to improving and maintaining your surfing style.
