and that’s a wrap for Lady Liberty Regatta 2022.

first of all, thank you to every single person and company who has shown support and backed our campaign to get here. Without you, it wouldn’t have been possible.

This regatta, as most, did not come without its obstacles, with us only having about 4 hours of training on the boat (J24) in total before the start of the first race in this regatta. Considering that, and that we were sailing in strong currents, and light and shifty conditions, we did a amazing job at managing the races and still doing our best.

I am immensely proud of the girls and considering we only started sailing together as a team about a month before this regatta, the cohesive team work and effort into getting things done were outstanding.

We ended up coming 6th out of 11 boats, and that is considering all circumstances, a amazing result. Some of the sailors at the event have been racing J24’s competitively for over 24 years, that is longer than our average age on the boat!

All in all, immensely proud of the girls, and we’ll keep this group going for future South African and International events in the future!
